Work Experience through the development of a Social Enterprise

Are you having trouble finding a job because you do not have any work experience? A chance to choose can help!

You will be paid to:

• Earn certificates in: First aid, World Host, WHIMIS, Serving it Right and Food Safe,
• Connect to business owners, government and community partners,
• Explore the companies in your community that are socially responsible such as VanCity, Rona, Safeway, Pasta Polo and more,
• Create A Social Enterprise

At the end of the 15 week intake you will have:

• A resume,
• Reference letters,
• Industry recognized certificates,
• Experience in marketing, customer service, financial management, communications and business management,
• Connections to business owners, government and community partners,
• Work experience

While you are in A chance to choose you will be paid a training allowance, which is equivalent to minimum wage for 30 hours per week.

To qualify you must be:

• Between the ages of 15 and 30
• not working or in school
• not on Employment Insurance (EI) or have been on EI in the past 3 years
